Accessibility for Disabilities

Support is Available, but Updates Are Needed

The Miller Academic Center is wheelchair accessible using the building’s elevators and the building itself has handicap door openers. The Olin Shop space itself has some shops and tools that are physically accessible for wheelchair users, and some that aren’t. We encourage all members to let us know if they have questions about which tools they can use, and for solutions to make tools that aren’t more accessible. This kind of ongoing evaluation and feedback from our community is essential to prioritize improvements and make sure you can make safely and comfortably. There are often DIY solutions to accessibility issues that we can prototype and iterate on together!

All of us are different, and are going to need different mobility aids, tools, and support groups to help us achieve the goals we want to. If you want to access a tool or a shop, but can’t with your disability, let the Shop staff know. We will work with you to find a solution that allows for autonomy, or if there’s nothing that can be done, find an alternative.
